When you come for your first appointment at City of Hope, you'll be greeted by your multidisciplinary care team. Together, we'll work with you on designing a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your needs, preferences and goals. Our team will carefully review your medical records and health history, and if necessary, your oncologist will order additional tests to confirm or determine your diagnosis.
We understand that each patient's situation is unique, and that's why we offer personalized treatment plans that are coordinated by experts in your specific type of cancer. Along with your treatment plan, we also provide evidence-informed supportive care services designed to help you manage side effects, maintain your energy and stay strong throughout your treatment journey. We know how stressful this journey can be, but we're here to help in any way we can. If you need a second opinion, we offer one-day evaluations for some cases. Your journey of care with us, step by step
From the moment you contact us through your post-treatment journey, we do everything we can to ensure your treatment at City of Hope is as convenient and stress-free as possible.
As you take your first steps, your care team will guide you throughout the process of becoming a patient with us, from gathering your medical records to scheduling your first appointments. During your treatment, your care manager, a nurse with experience and training in working with cancer patients, handles the details — making sure nothing falls through the cracks. After your primary treatment is completed, you'll be introduced to your City of Hope survivorship team. Together, they'll offer strategies to prevent and detect new or recurrent cancers and interventions for long-term and late side effects that may result from cancer and/or its treatments.
Our team will work with you to develop ways to improve and maintain your health, not just during treatment but long after you've gone back to your life.
